FLUX PSYCHOTHERAPY

Therapy That Moves With You
Not Against You.

"flux, n.

The natural state. Our moods change. Our lives change. Our feelings for each other change. Our bearings change. The song changes. The air changes. The temperature of the shower changes.
Accept this. We must accept this.”

― David Levithan, The Lover's Dictionary

About Me

Welcome to Flux Psychotherapy - where healing meets motion. My name is Amelia, and I am so glad you're here. Beginning or returning to therapy can be an overwhelming step that takes a lot of courage. I am so glad to join you as you navigate this chapter of your mental health & wellness journey.

Here at Flux it is my hope to work alongside you as you navigate the ebbs and flows in life, creating a safe space where you can feel seen, heard, and empowered to make meaningful changes.

FAQs

Is Flux Psychotherapy right for me?

At Flux we understand that starting or returning to therapy and choosing a therapist can be a complicated decision to make, and it is normal to feel nervous, intimidated, or uncertain about taking this step. This step also shows courage, and a commitment to your mental health and well-being.
I am happy to offer a 20-minute complimentary consultation where we can talk through your hopes and goals for therapy, and determine if my therapeutic style and approach would be a good match for your needs!

Do you accept direct billing?

Currently we do not accept direct billing, payments are due at the end of each session by Mastercard, Visa, debit, or e-transfer. All receipts can be submitted directly to your insurance coverage for reimbursement - check with your insurance company for details on what is covered under your plan.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes! We recognize how deeply personal and vulnerable therapy is, therefore maintaining your confidentiality is of upmost importance. As a RP (Qualifying) I am bound by a code of ethics and ensure that all necessary steps are taken to ensure your personal health information is protected - including information shared in sessions, and any notes taken. There are instances where confidentiality may be breached, such as when there are concerns for your safety or the safety of others'. These exceptions will be discussed in depth as a part of informed consent, but please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.

Do you offer pricing on a sliding scale?

At Flux we want to make therapy more accessible - helping you get the support you need, so we are happy to collaborate on the possibility of a sliding scale. If pricing continues to being a barrier to accessing mental health support we can also work together to find alternatives such as referrals to lower-cost counselling services.

How long is a therapy session?

Individual therapy sessions are typically 50-minutes long, however the duration of sessions can vary based on your individual needs. If you feel that you may benefit from longer individual sessions, 90-minute appointments can be offered at an adjusted rate!

What is your cancellation policy?

Flux Psychotherapy has a policy of giving a 24-hour notice if you need to change or cancel your appointment. For cancellations under 24 hours you will be charged the full session rate, as you are holding a spot that someone else might have been able to use. You can cancel or change your appointment through emailing us directly!
